The preferences you have on each of the four dichotomies (EI, SN, TF, JP) combine to yield a four-letter type pattern, which is your psychological type. For example, preferences for Extraversion (E), Intuition (N), Thinking (T) and Perceiving (P) combine to yield the four-letter type pattern: ENTP. There are sixteen different ways the preferences on the four scales can go together (e.g., ISFJ, ESTJ, INFP). Click on a type below to learn more about it.
Remember - from the perspective of personal and professional development, the psychological type model of personality is not an end in itself, but is useful insofar as it gives us insight into our habitual modes of perceiving, deciding, valuing and behaving. Armed with that knowledge of ourselves, we can better awaken to our true selves, our inherent freedom and our authentic power.
