Bio

 

Charles R. Martin, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist in a full time speaking, training and therapy practice. Dr. Martin’s work with individuals and organizations is oriented toward helping people improve the quality of their personal and professional lives. In his work Dr. Martin emphasizes life balance, and living and working with purpose and perspective.

He has worked with a wide range of individuals and organizations and has provided services in community, hospital, university, business, and government settings. His speaking and training styles are entertaining and practical and his coaching and therapy styles are empowering and experiential. If you are considering having Dr. Martin work with your organization, please note his extensive experience in working with a variety of clients across industries.

Dr. Martin has a life-long interest in integrating insights and practices from classic wisdom traditions and transpersonal psychology with insights and practices from modern psychology and psychotherapy. Of particular concern in his work is to help clients answer the question: How do I integrate inner development and outer effectiveness?

Dr, Martin is the author and co-author of several books on applications of personality style in personal, career and organizational life. He has written the internationally-recognized book on personality type and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) - Looking at Type: The Fundamentals – a book that has been called “the best introduction to type available today.”

His education includes a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Florida, an M.A.Ed. in Counseling and a B.A. in Psychology from Wake Forest University. He is currently licensed as a psychologist in the state of Florida and is a certified hypnotherapist. Dr. Martin is also a member of the American Psychological Association, the Society for Humanistic Psychology and is a member of the Association for Transpersonal Psychology (ATP) and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).
