The Enneagram
model of personality describes nine distinct personality types
and shows how these types experience themselves and behave when under
stress and also when moving toward integration-actualization. Many
different schools and teaching systems use the Enneagram as a tool
for self-knowledge and as a means of becoming conscious of the defenses
and games that personalities play.
Beyond offering
insight into defensive habits that trap us, the Enneagram model of
personality types offers insights and practices for discovering the
quality of essence that is unique to each personality type
- the aspects of the true self that lie behind the defense.
