The Elements of Power™

The Elements of Power provide the basic framework and tools for developing personal and professional mastery. This set of principles and practices has evolved from research and experience across cultures and disciplines (social and personality psychology, organizational behavior, career development research, wisdom traditions and body-mind practices).

Across disciplines there has been the repeated discovery of fundamental elements that represent human qualities, behavioral options, and practices for development. These Elements of Power represent options for effective action across domains (e.g., leadership, team building, career development, athletic activity), and link to personal development through modern and traditional psychological practices.

The Elements of Power address the roles of:

  • Attention-Energy
  • Intent and Openness
  • Discipline
  • Heart
  • Perspective

The practices for personal mastery begin with developing a set of attitudes that remind us to take responsibility, to manage our attention and energy, and to be aware of our habits or identifications that restrict our perceptual, cognitive, and behavioral options. Through becoming aware of and managing these habits, we begin to wake up to our inherent freedom and power and can enhance our effectiveness in different arenas of our life.

The basic seminar - The Elements of Power -- is an introduction to the tools for personal mastery - and is a step toward creating a life path that has meaning and expresses excellence. Click here for seminar information.

The practices for professional mastery are extensions of these principles and tools into domains where you may wish to take charge of your life (e.g., leadership development, career mastery).
