Some Working Principles for Integrating Inner Evolution and Outer Effectivness

Principle: You can work on waking up and being effective in the world at the same time.

The very thing that you want at a personal level will bring you to the door of your inner development. In short, in every activity that asks you to be effective in the real world there is the very opportunity you need to wake up from your conditioned defensive habitual self.

Principle: Work on yourself first.

Most desires for the world to be different are an avoidance of something in your self. “I wish so and so would change - then I'd be happier.” This puts your power and your happiness in someone else's hands and is a good way to avoid looking at your own needs for development. Being a better leader, taking charge of your career, building that business, developing powerful relationships all depend on your starting with you, with your own personal evolution.

Principle: The practices that lead to personal and inner development are also the practices and processes that can lead to effectiveness in the everyday life.

E.g., observation, energy and attention management, getting distance on one’s own perspective. Focus, perspective, and action clearly are a part of life success as well as being integral to one’s inner development.
