Charles
R. Martin, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist (Florida # PY5214)
in a full time speaking, consulting, coaching and therapy practice.
Dr. Martin’s work with individuals and organizations focuses on
leadership development, coaching and coaching skills, and career mastery.
He delivers training programs nationally and internationally and all
of his work emphasizes success and life balance through the development
of personal and professional skills. The goal of his speaking, training,
and coaching is to promote purposeful and effective living and working.
What
brings him to this work is a life-long search to integrate insights
and practices from transpersonal psychology and classic wisdom tradtions
with insights and practices from modern psychology, psychotherapy, organizational
work and career development. The questions that drive his work are:
what is our true nature and how do we integrate our inner and outer
development? How do we live consciously and live well?
Dr.
Martin is the author and co-author of several books on applications
of personality style in personal, career and organizational development.
He has authored an internationally recognized book on applications of
personality type and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Looking
at Type: The Fundamentals – a book that has been called “the
best introduction to type available today.” He has written two
books on life and career planning: Looking at Type and Careers,
and A Quick Guide to The 16 Personality Types and Career Mastery:
Living on Purpose and Working Effectively, and is co-author of
Building People –Building Programs, A Quick Guide to the Sixteen
Types in Organizations, and Out-of-the-Box Exercises: Using
the Power of Type to Build Effective Teams.
Dr.
Martin is a past Vice President of Research and Development and currently
a consulting psychologist for the Center for Applications of Psychological
Type (CAPT). He was the architect of CAPT’s MBTI Qualifying Program,
and the primary force behind the design and development of that organization’s
career development workshop and executive coaching training program.
Dr. Martin has trained and qualified thousands of professionals to use
type as a tool for both personal and professional development.
Dr.
Martin has worked with a wide range of individuals and organizations,
and has provided coaching to CEOs and senior management in for-profit
as well as not-for-profit institutions. He has provided services in
community, hospital, university, business, and government settings,
and in numerous industries, including the financial industry, software
industry, manufacturing and sales, and consulting firms. His coaching
style is empowering and his training style is entertaining, experiential
and practical. His goals are to build organizational talent and to empower
individuals to achieve their goals while working with purpose and balance.
